Wellesley is home to Massachusetts Marketplace Festival

On Saturday, August 7th, the town of Wellesley held its annual farmer’s market and artisan product fair.  Over 60 vendors showcased good such as homemade tomato sauce, natural skin care products, Italian ice, and of course, fruits and vegetables grown by local farms!

The festival was held in the middle of 36 lush acres of the Elm Bank Reservation in Wellesley. The reservation is also home to the Festival’s host, the Massachusetts Horticultural Society.

The Massachusetts Marketplace Festival is a great example of sustainability in MetroWest Boston. In addition, Wellesley is also home to one of the best botanical gardens in Massachusetts — the Wellesley College Botanical Gardens. Go green in Wellesley!

One of the most relaxing things to do on a frigid winter day in Massachusetts is to take the family on a trip to the Wellesley College Botanic Gardens. Admission is free, the rooms are warm and balmy, flowery perfume lingers in the air, and kids can marvel at plants that are native to places all over the country. Afterwards, take the family on a walk through town to do some shopping, book-browsing, or a leisurely lunch at a local cafe.

Some Tips On Buying Wellesley Homes in A Down Market

It seems that everyone has a story about the market down turn and, as you might expect, some of the ones involving Wellesley homes are not good. For that reason, there were a lot of potential first time buyers who were hesitant to buy their first home last year, with good reason.

All that gloom has changed now. Homes in and around Wellesley are starting to move with the apparent turn in market fortunes and that means the first time buyer needs to understand what the market looks like now and what they can expect when they get involved in it.

One of the first things that will work in the first time buyer’s favor is the fact that there are more homes available now and that gives these people the chance to look for homes in neighborhoods where the prices were too high just a year or so ago.

This is a great time to get involved with the Wellesley homes market. The first time buyer has the distinct advantage of being able to move quickly as they generally don’t need to worry about selling their existing home in a market where there is a surplus of homes for sale and they are able to find a first home that has many of the items on their wish list.

Finding Wellesley Real Estate for Your Family

When you find yourself looking for real estate in Wellesley, MA, lone of the most important things that you can do is to take a step back and take a look at your own family. Before you buy a Wellesley home, it’s important to make sure that you know what you are looking for in a home.

So, what does your family need in a home that you should be thinking about before buying Wellesley real estate? While the answer is going to vary some based on your family, you’re also going to want to look at a number of things like:

  • What your kids need in a school. If you want to be sure that your kids are able to get one on one attention in the classroom, you’ll want to be sure that you’re talking with your real estate agent about the schools in the area.
  • The size of your family so that you know that you’re going to have enough space – in terms of bedrooms and storage and other elements.
  • How close to Wellesley you work; if you’re going to be commuting into Boston, for example, you’re going to want to make sure that you’re living close enough to the highway to take some of the stress out of your commute.

By taking a closer look at your family’s activities, habits and need when you’re looking into Wellesley real estate, you’ll find that it’s easier to get a sense of what you need in a home. When you take that understanding as a foundation for talks with your real estate agent, you’ll be well on your way to finding a great home that’s everything that you’re looking for.

Exploring Wellesley Home Prices

If you’ve been thinking about looking into Wellesley real estate, one of the considerations that you’ll have involves Wellesley home prices.

The simple reason that you’ll want to look into Wellesley home prices is because the price you pay is going to have a lot to do with the cost of your home (equally important, of course, will be the interest rate associated with your mortgage). When you’re buying a home, whether in Wellesley, MA or elsewhere, you’re going to want to make sure that you are looking at your budget so that you will be able to make the monthly payments, set some cash aside for emergencies and taxes and not have to make major sacrifices.

However, it’s important to make sure that you’re taking the time to understand a bit more about what impacts the price of Wellesley real estate. You’ll want to be sure that you are working with a real estate professional who will be able to answer your questions, show you the trends as they’ve been discovered and explain the impact of other homes on the market and market conditions. Your real estate professional, after all, is going to be the one who knows the area, understands what’s been going on in the market and who is there to support you through the buying (or selling) process.

When you’re working with a real estate professional who knows the area and can provide you with information about different neighborhoods and what the home prices look like in them, you’ll find that you’re able to make an informed decision when you buy your Wellesley home.

Relocating to Wellesley Doesn’t Have to Be Difficult

One of the great things about Wellesley real estate is that it gives you the chance to be near Boston and Cambridge (and all that both cities have to offer) without living in either one. However, if you’re going to be relocating to Wellesley, you’re going to want to think about a few things.

First, you’re going to want to make sure that you know what’s going on in the area. You’ll want to know about schools, about shopping centers, about parks, options for recreation – say running or cycling trails if you’re big on taking a morning run or riding your bike.

Similarly, when you’re thinking about relocating to Wellesley you’re going to want to make sure that you’re aware of taxes on property in the area, about local work opportunities and about other situations that may impact your finances – even things like the general price of homes.

In order to learn all of these things when you’re thinking about relocating to Wellesley, you’re going to want to make sure that you’re working with a real estate professional who knows the area well, who will listen to your wants and needs and be able to answer any questions that you have. By getting the right support along the way, you’ll find that the whole process of buying a home in an area where you don’t live can go much more smoothly.

Ultimately, you’ll discover that relocating to Wellesley can be extremely rewarding – even more than you may have anticipated it could be.
